Yeah, it's been a little dead around here but maybe nothing's broke! I Haven't been using my MM much out for a while, just have a larger thing going but have to work a REAL small place next week so I WILL be putting my 2-10-65 w/tube to work then. Here's what it look slike in the recording room as I use it there. The old sunn cab has a jbl d130 in it. OOPS-can't post a pic here. I'll put it in the post area.

Mike I don't think Steve will mind at all,I see a nice Musicman setup which is way kool, but I really would think it would be neet to get some background on you ,like what bands have you played in or currently in,and maybe a pic with you and that amp,on stage or just hanging out at home ,that was kinda what I was going for.And when those others show up later maybe they will fallow suit.

Well, that amp doesn't get out much. It's mostly for recording and the like. My "out" rig is a 1970 or so bassman head through 2-1x12 cab with jbl's. I actually use the mm to record bass parts too, hence the 15 on the bottom. As to me, my band works pretty much as much as we can, which is almost too much at time. We just took off for three weeks which is the first band vacation of any length for a long time. If you're interested, www.handsoffband.com

I play in 4 bands at the moment. Three tributes and an original girl fronted heavy groove rock band, which is basically like Alice In Chains with a chick singer. The original band is Faceless. We?ve been around for a while, regular staple in the music scene between Seattle and LA.

I started an Alice Cooper tribute called Devil?s Food about 5 years ago and it?s still going strong. Longest running Cooper tribute on the West Coast. I also have a Type O Negative Tribute call October Rust and a Screaming Trees tribute called Black Sun Morning.

I use my 410 HD 130 for the Trees tribute and it?s my main amp at home. Also recorded the clean parts to the Faceless song Fire In The Wind (on our Myspace) and the solo with my Musicman.

Here?s a link to my personal Myspace page and my bands are in my Top Friends.

Hi all and happy new year... this is my gig rig that i use twice a week so it sees a lot of use..!! it's a wet/dry/wet/ rig.. the homemade 1x12's are the stereo cabs for the rack mostly for some delay/reverb and a very nice Dynacord CLS-22 leslie cab simulator that sounds amazing...the HD 130 is the main dry amp but it sat down on a gig again lately so i think the old girl needs another service..she is the version with the 12ax7 phase splitter..

Regards

Tony

www.myspace.com/clandiablo

this needs to be updated for this year but it might give you an idea of where were at....we had a regular gig nearly every friday with rotating gigs or a private function on the saturdays..a change of management just before christmas on our friday gig has left us in a bit of limbo so 2010 finds us nearly booked up to next new years eve on the saturdays but nothing on the fridays as yet but i think this might change as we have a meeting with the next week...

Back in my high school band, I played through a Music Man 65 head into a Marshall 4x12 cab. Nowadays, I have a 210-65 that pretty much stays home. I noticed it has the "doppler" tremolo when you turn the intensity past 5. Anyone else's do this?

Not really but it sounds like MAYBE you need to pull the chassis and adjust the trem control.

Re: "Doppler" tremolo---I recently test-drove a 210-65 in EXC+ shape for sale near me. Because I hadn't played one before, I downloaded the 1974 catalog from this site (thank you) and made notes of the knob functions. The manual brags "An unusual phase reversing tremolo circuit simulates the Doppler effect of a rotating speaker." The controls page states "At settings from zero to five, modulation varies from zero to 100% respectively. At settings above five, a second modulation phase is added giving a Doppler effect that simulates a rotating speaker." I tried it, and the rotary effect was tremendous!!! Almost enough for me to buy the amp just for that! So, IMHO, Alex H's tremolo is probably fine...}

Thanks for the info, Tom. Yes, the Doppler tremolo is actually a cool extra effect, which might be handy to have in the bag of tricks. The tremolo is normal (and great-sounding) from 1-5, BTW.

Never READ any of that stuff. That's interesting, and I SOLD this stuff back in the day. Of course, none of us(including me) ever used trem and still don't today so what the heck do I know!

The poster, Spot Mandoo, is not only a Musicman dude, but also a G&L guitar player. His Alice Cooper tribute band is great. I don't recall him posting about his MM over on the G&L discussion page, but he may have. He is a busy musician, and one with an eye for quality build and sound.
BTW: I had mentioned somewhere here that I was amazed at how much my G&L F-100 guitar (MFD humbucker model) made my 212HD 130 break up. The pairing of the Leo-era G&L and Musicman, was meant to be, at least for heavier break-up at less volume.
I posted a video on youtube yesterday, in which I'm playing my F-100 through my MM 212. The song is not too polished, as I just started working on it (I am a marginal guitar-player, at best, but do work at it. I have truly bad fingers for fretting, but that's life.). Anyway, if you watch, just listen to the way that the amp is breaking up. That's with the F-100 plugged directly into the amp, w/both pickups on. It was a quick, one-take, video that I put up just because I hadn't put anything up in over 1 year. I recorded it directly into a little Sony DVR, with vocals through an 80's Yamaha bass amp into a single '67 Eminence alnico speaker cab, using a TRex Roomate for reverb. Budget "production". Anyway, if you're interested,
