Musicman 65 reverb power problem?

hello, problem is loud (humm) without guitar plugged in. volume control makes no difference. (can hear slight guitar sound in back of humm) when plugged in. then after 1 min i lose power to tubes (then no nothing) . any ideas? thanks

Does the fuse blow or just go out? When it cools off, does it come back on? Also, which chassis(amp) are we talking about? With or without PI tube.

fuse does not blow .it does come back on after ten mins or so. it is a 65 reverb head .that is all the info i have . thank you

Have you replaced old electrolytic caps?

I'm going to go with bad caps OR a bad connection at one of the heater wires. Get's hot, tubes go out. OR PS transformer taking a whizz.
