I sure hope someone out there might be able to help me with this...

A couple of weeks back, someone was moving my precious Music Man 212-HD amplifier. The next day I tried to turn it on, and it wouldn't work. A bit of troubleshooting resulted in my discovery that the fuse cover-- the little plastic and metal thing that holds the fuse in place--had fallen off, whereabouts unknown. Last week I tried buying a similarly-sized fuse cover at Radio Shack, but it didn't cut the mustard. It kind of works, but every so often the amp will flicker on and off rapidly and emit an alarming smell. Not the sort of thing to inspire confidence.

So now I'm not quite sure what to do. I am looking for a fuse cover for a 212-HD amp or similar model. If anyone has something like that laying around, I sure would appreciate their getting in touch with me. I don't need an exact replica-- I've already repaired the amp a couple of times with new parts so it's not vintage anymore, I just need the damn thing to start working again! I appreciate any assistance you can offer.

Thanks,
Ezra Freeman

hi there, the only thing i can suggest is fitting with a new fuse holer, they are about the same size except instead of a push spring clip type cover, it has a decent screw in thread. As far as i know you would have to solder two wires to it and wala. Give it a few days because someone with more expertice may advise otherwise, or help you out with a replacement.
