does any one know how many caps and what voltage/best kind/quietist capacitors are needed to replace the whole shabang? electrolytic's included. and whatever else will make life of the amp longer, maybe even make the tone better! thanks!

Don't bother replacing anything but the electrolytics-they're the only ones that really go bad. I would suggest vishay/sprague as they are the best out there. Let me know what head exactly that you have and I'll cout up what you need to order. Mike.

Re: *-65 w/SS Driver's 100uF/450V filter caps, anybody used Xicon XAL450V100, or
Illinois Cap 107TTA450M (both 22mm x 50mm)?

If so, prefered one over the other?

I just bought an early 12ax7 sixtyfive head. This amp sounds amazing with no indication that it needs new caps. (no hissing or other noises) I do suspect it still has the original caps, in fact Steve saw pics and replied he thought they were the original ones. Should I replace them anyway??

I just e-mailed Terry Loose. It seems he hasn't posted for quite some time. Does he still do repairs??
