Hey! I just got a '71 Marshall super bass 100w and I didn't have a cabinet, so I played the super bass trough the Music Man 212-130HD. (I took the speaker cord from MM and plugged it in to the Marshall) Everything was fine for a couple of hours, it sounded great, but all of a sudden the MM went totally silent. Then I tried to plug my guitar to the Music Man but nothing happened. What's wrong? Can anyone help me?

Replacement speakers comes to mind. I think you need to check both amps with another set.

When I was a kid I had an Ampeg VT-22 (5 billion watts).
The 2 12" speakers were each stamped 8 ohms.
So I set the amp's ohm selector switch to 8 ohms.
The correct setting should have been 4 ohms,
but what did I know?
I ended up blowing speaker after speaker,
which left the amp really quiet...
You may have a similar issue.

Yeah, I found out what was wrong. Thanks anyway! It's the speakers. Marshall = 16 ohms... Go figure. So how do celestion vintage 30's sound??

Go to the Celestion website (www.celestion.com I think) and seek out their "tone selector". It's great and will give you some idea of which speaker models suit various music styles and specific setups (ie. combo, 4x12 cab etc). It's all subjective at the end of the day, however you'll get some idea of the subtle differences.
