As I hang MY head in shame, I will admit (as a part of 12-step program) that I have an HD-130 head that also features a Fender logo just like the one pictured above!

Truth be known, I got the amp with no grill board, badges OR rear panel and had to fabricate them from scratch.

It just LOOKED funny without badges and I had a spare Fender logo in my parts box so I put it on when I made the judgement that I liked the look of the amp better with a Fender logo!

Since Leo Fender was at least affiliated with Music Man I didn't feel this was as sacriligious as it might first appear! Add this to the fact that in restoring the head I used Fender Tolex, grill cloth and knobs! There is at least SOME Fender content to justify the logo at some level!

There, I've said it. I'll try and post a photograph this evening so the one above has company.

Here is the promised photo...

Shameful "Fender" HD-130

You can see I was mistaken... I shamefully used a NEWER Fender logo (not period) and I did NOT use Fender knobs (the original MM knobs are still there).

I am so ashamed...

A nice side-effect of "coming out of the closet" is that I now have a photo posted where you can see what a set of Fender knobs looks like in direct comparison to the original MM knobs!

..Not half bad if you ask me.

The only big difference as far as i can see (not on the photo,) is that the MM knobs have the numbers painted ON the knob, and that the Fender knobs have the numbers imprinted (i.e. the layer of paint is flush with the rest of the thing, not "on top" )
Don't know for sure if this is always the case, so just guessing really

Later Music Man knobs had a light thermal imprint to prevent rubbing off the lettering, but most of them just have the letters silkscreened right on the knob skirt.

The Fenders have the numbers molded into the knob skirt and are simply filled with ink and this keeps them from losing their markings!

as we all know musicmans are well known for having their numbers wear out - i guess this can justify playing loud!?!?

It must be a DRUM... it says so on the front and I saw it on the Internet so it must be true.
