First Music Man Amp

Hi, new member Gutbucket on here. Just purchased my first Music Man amp and love it! It's a 210 RD 100 combo and I couldn't be happier with it. The speakers have been replaced with an Eminence Delta Demon and a Little Buddy. Filters and Tubes have just been replaced and updated, too. I did have trouble with the reverb on it, (didn't work). But after contacting the seller and doing some of the things he suggested, like playing around with the RCA jacks, I found a little loose green wire was disconnected from the input jack in the reverb tank. A little solder and it was working fine. Giving credit to the seller of the amp, he offered to send me a whole new tank. This amp has lots of clean head room which is typical from what I've heard about these amps. The reverb sounds different then the typical Fender reverb to me. Very usable, but not that intense Fender type of reverb. And the distortion sounds good, too. I've heard so much about the unusable distortion on these, but it isn't a bad sound to my ears. Is it a Marshall sound? Nope. But this isn't a Marshall amp so I didn't expect that anyway. These amps seem to love pedals, too. I've been using an E Wave 9th Sky overdrive pedal, a Behringer V999 overdrive and an E Wave tremelo pedal. Both the overdrives sound great, with the nod going to the Behringer right now. Must be the little 12au7 tube that's in it. Tremelo pedal sounds nice on this amp and you can get some "Swampy" CCR tones going on with it. I've plugged in a Les Paul, Strat, and Tele's with Fender single coils and P-90's . It seems to like them all with maybe the single coils sounding the best. All in all, this amp does cover a lot of ground in tone and types of sound that you can tweak out of it. I'm a happy camper and my toes are all a-quiver!

Welcome

Welcome Gutbucket and congrats on acquiring your 210 RD 100 combo, she sounds like a sweetie. Lots of wonderful folks here with the smarts to help you with your MM amp questions if needed.
I must confess though that I am only a guitar player, but I still like to hang out here and try to figure out what the techs are talking about but I'm afraid with not much success. Actually, I still haven't found where the bar or bathroom is around here either ..

Anyways.. Welcome aboard and have fun with the MM amp and your music. Dave.

The only cure for those

The only cure for those quivering toes are more Music Mans. Quivertoe...could be a band name.
