This is my first post here. I just picked up a 112RD One Hundred last week for $400. It's VERY clean. Speaker has been replaced with an Electro Harmonix 12VR8 75 watt. Naturally I've been a bit cautious to push the amp too hard because of the lower wattage speaker. There is a sticker on the back of the chassis marked "81-6". Can anyone tell me if that indicates June 1981 as a build date? Serial is DP08463. Chassis is 2100-RD-CAN.

ok here you go on what you have:i guess you figured out the can was for Canadian, DP08463 d=rd or rp
P=100watts
08463<------this is the production number,there were 8462 before your amp and who knows how many after that in production.I'd say that sticker is someone doing you a favor ,the only way to know who inspected your amp and the year it was produced is take the chasis out and look inside,someone before you probably did this and put a little sticker on the outside to save you the trouble.That amp probably was made in 81.

Thanks for the response. I put a JBL D120F 100 watt in it today. I won't know for sure until I gig next, but I think it's going to work nicely. The middle tone control seems to be more active now and the reverb sounds fuller. Amazing how different speakers change things.

Josh... I just picked up the same amp with a serial number DP08483 model 2100-RD-CAN. (I paid $500, so I am a bit peeved you got one for $400, but good on you!) It also has a sticker with 81-6. Since the serial numbers are only 20 apart, I am guessing it is 1981, June build date. Mine has a loud annoying hiss on the Reverb channel. I am going to try to get it fixed. Have you experienced this problem?

I had my 112-RD-100 open to attempt repairs. (#fail) but there was a handwritten marking on the PC Board saying "5-22-1981" and intials "aw" and a note "100".

So it's pretty clear the beast was assembled in May 22, 1981 and probably shipped in June 1981 (81-6 sticker)

Cheers
