Bonnie Raitt and her band plays Angel From Montgomery, with Music Man all over the stage.

Judging by the surroundings and looking at Bonnie, that's pretty far back in the day. Prbably from when MM was hot. Me think's she's using comtemporary stuff now.

The picture is a little fuzzy or maybe I better get some stronger glasses but I think even the bass player was running Music Man. Yup, that was a few gigs ago.. (Step into the way-back machine.)

I remember when we did a job somewhere in the late 70's and the music store that I worked at provided ALL the amps and of course they were all MM's. Wish I had a pic of THAT! We never think of stuff like that when it happens.

That would have been a great pic Mike. That's what drew me to this video, all that MM gear on one stage.
In most of my years of playing I was usually the only guy with a MM amp. I have seen a few more of them popping up in the last 8-10 years.

I'm curious Mike, when you where working at your music store, did you ever have any famous musicans/bands come in and try or buy any MM gear?
Thanks, Dave.

Nobody at all. We were a mid level almost "chain" from the at louis area that really didn't do much on MY side of the river(I was in the Illinois store). We dealt with the guys from local bands and THEY all wanted Marshall. I remember trying to talk to the guys from Starcastle and they just blew me off. It was a fun time though. Mike.

That's what it's all about, having fun. Back in the 80's (Northern Calif.) I remember seeing a lot of Peavey amps & guitars. Not so much anymore.
Take it easy, Dave.

Yeah, we had all that Peavey crap too. It was a LOT easier to sell because of the price. Hell, I even played through one for a while while at the store. One of those "Musician" 200 watt mutha's. Pretty good clean sound but back then, clean didn't sell and that horrible fuzz thing they had built in was just that-horrible. They were LOUD though! Started playing through a 130 MM head then with two Orange 4x12's. THAT was fun! We were an Orange dealer for about ten minutes before I quit. Those were nice amps! Cabs were HEAVY!

@Mike Kaus - so are you still in the St Lous area?
I have family over there and remember my visits (28 years ago) to Mc Murrays Music, and J Gravity strings - some others too which escape my fading memory

Still here. Actually on the Illinois side. Used to go to Mcmurrays, and others over there. Actually bought my jazz bass at Mcmurray's. Traded a 66 or so strat(OH MY GAWD-what would it be worth today!) in on a new 75 jazz bass that I still have. Had to give $100.00 and the strat. Geez. Back in the day, Heil Music in Marissa was huge. Swing City in Collinsville is still in business but my feelings for them will go unposted(bastards!) Oops-it slipped. Lots of places out of business from then. Halpin in Alton is still around, though with new owners. Dales in STL is still sort of there I guess. Mostly junk though from what I hear. Had a buddy that worked there for YEARS, up until just a few years ago and they forced HIM out. Times they are a changin'. Mike.

I hope to cross the pond from Wales and visit Brentwood, St Louis in the next year or so. Hope you are close enough for a beer?

From Wales? Damned straight. Get ahold of me. We'll have a pint! Didn't see this until now! Geez, this "new" button never works for me. Get ahold of me when you come. Mike.
