I am new to Music Man amps...I recently purchased a 2-10 65 and would like to get some information on how to date the amp...can anyone date the amp from the serial number...The speaker codes reflect 1977...I assume these were not made in 1987?? I also understand there are features like solid state preamp that also date the amp...can someone knowledgable on this design comment...thanks in advance

There is a lot of info on this subject in this Discussion Forum... use the Search feature at the top right.

In a nutshell, the 210-65 model was made between 1974 & 1980. The only way to date manufacture with certainty is to take the chassis out of the cabinet and look everywhere on the chassis for markings and labels that might contain dates or date codes.

Unfortunately, there is no way to use serial numbers to determine anything about the amps age except when comparing to another amplifier of known age.
