I've been wondering what model I should look for after my MM210-65. I find its the amp of choice between the other two (non MM). The 210 was available at the time and I had wanted the 212 and maybe because of this I would wonder how the 212 would be. I like the 210 and always played with the idea of getting an extension speaker with 2X12's, but haven't yet. For you who are fortunate to have played through a variety of MM amp, is there a difference in tone... assuming it was the same guitar and guitar cord. At a first glance at these amps, it seems to be either the 12AX7 splitter or the number of speakers, speaker size and power. I know this is a simplistic description of these great amps, and I don't mean to offend anyone. So, if I wanted to get another MM, what would you suggest? Thanks

the cumulative speaker area of 2-12s will generally yield a bit more bass and not as quick of a response as a pair of 10s...other than that they should be pretty close.

My personal fav amp is a SixtyFive Reverb (note the spelled out number instead of a numeral) with a 15...but it stays in the studio...gig wise, my RD100 with a 12 has been impossible to beat for several years now

I guess I have to say my simplistic description failed to note the change from EL34's to the 6L6's. Anyone care to elaborate the fine distinction between the 2 power tubes in the MM line or direct me to the thread that's discussed this already.
Thanks!!

I was wondering if the 210RD-100 would be different enough than my 210-SixtyFive that I should consider that. I may be finding I like the 2X10 than anything else. Or would any RD like work. I don't know if I like the phasor sound that much.
Thanks

Hubert, I can't answer that...each brings a differnt flavor to the party...

And you don't have to use the phase shifter...I don't use the disotrion in any RD amp...that's not why i have and use MM...

Another model that I haven't found much info is the 210-75 model. Has anyone had the luxury of using one and how do they compare to the other 2X10 models. Or would the 210-150 be pretty much the same except for the wattage?
Thanks in advance.
Hubert
