So a store near me has an all black music man hd 130 head. I was wondering if there was a difference between the heads with a black grill cloth on the front versus the ones with a normal white tolex/cloth

Since a head has no speakers, it won't matter at all what is used for the grill cloth. It is purely cosmetic on a head.

As far as I have seen, MM amps covered in Black Tolex came from the factory with the silver grill cloth similar to those found on the pre-CBS Fenders.

MM amps covered in the white "pinwal" tolex came with black grill cloth.
