Bias setting for 210 Sixty Five ?

Author Message   Richard Posted on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 - 06:25 pm:    Hello! I have a 210 Sixty Five, with the 12ax7 tube. It has 2 EL-34s in it, old Mullards. I prefer the direct reading approach with a tube adapter that directly reads cathode current or the voltage over a resistor in the adapter. I set MY 2-10 65 at 21-23mA of idle current and get good tube life and great sound. These amps ate tubes back in the day when we HAD good tubes so a little cool is good. I also prefer JJ E34L's as they seem to holg up in my amps well.
