The distortion on my RD 100 head sounds very bad. So much so that I don't ever turn the gain up past 4 on it. I need to know what might be causing this problem. I currently use a TS7 w/brown MOD (along with many other analog pedals)to make it sound good. I know it has to sound better than it does.

Before I would assume that an RD has a problem with the distortion, I would compare it to another RD. The distortion is very simplistic and not very high-gain in the RD series.

They almost always sound better when driven harder with a preamp ahead of the input.
