I was contemplating replacing the TL072 opamps in my 1983 RD50. I have the model with mid-shift switch. Has anyone experimented with TL072-variant opamps like the NTE858M or LF353?

I tried sevral different op amps in both my RD-50 and my 112RP65 including NE5332, JRC4558, 1558, and some others. I found no meaningful tonal differences. In fact too fast of a PI chip can cause a pretty bad oscilation. I kept the JRC4558 in, might be a hair warmer, very thin hair. If you still have your amp, let me know I'd like to know about the later RD-50 sound of the limted channel!
