Hi All,
I have a 112RP. I've done the cap job, replaced the tubes, checked the resistance of both sides of the volume pot, but I have no volume control.
With the gain set about 8 and the main volume at about 1.5 - 2 the amp is maxed out volume wise. Turning the Volume control up does nothing to the true volume (it's already maxed out). Turning the volume down will cause the sound to decress linearly, but it's hard to get the right volume when 2 is full on and 0 is off. What happened to the linearity of the entire pot? What could be causing this?

Thanks,
Todd

My only idea is that the potis has been exchanged, or it is damaged. Exchange it to one with the correct value and volume curve (you need a logarithmic poti, also called audio, not a linear one)

BTW, the poti should have a date code which can tell you if if mignt be the original or not.

I know it's the original and ohms out correctly. I can't see anything in the circuit that would cause this. Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Todd

If anyone has a problem like this try replacing the tubes. I don't know by looking at the schematic how this could be but that's what caused the problem in my amp. Now the MM is singing along side the Marshalls...sssswwweeeet!
