I am having a hell of a time removing the speaker grill from my MM 412 GS. I don't want to force it off. Is there some magic way to remove it?

Also, does anyone know what this type of speaker, assuming original speakers are intact might be worth?

Thanks Warren, but are you talking about the removing the actual speaker? I am just trying to get the grill cloth off. The box is built like a tank and I have not found another way in.

Thanks. A bent butter knife worked like a charm.

Do you have any idea how to identify original MM speakers? I took a look inside, no markings, just some numbers, 412. I have read that MM offered an EV speaker upgrade, which according to some posters did not have markings.

im glad the butter knife worked, i posted anon. because sometimes when you give people help they claim that you have f*cked there stuff up when they dont do the job properly, anyway im happy for you mate. Now basically musicman speakers are going to be eminence, which were stock, or EV's which were an option, or stock in the pinwhale tolex models. There
are two types of eminence, alnico - which have a square magnet and ceramic, circle. These speakers are labelled musicman in the combos. in closed bins they saved the labels so you need to look at the codes on the speaker. EV's are heavy as hell because if the cast frame and huge circle magnet. if it includes the prefix 67 then its eminence. not sure what the code is for EV can google speaker codes. you can also get type and date from the code - which approximately dates musicman cabs and combos as there is no way to date from musicman serials. Hope this helps brother, i wish i had a 4 12"! GO MUSICMAN!!!
