I just got a screamin' deal on an HD-130 Reverb, with a 412-GS cabinet...for $300!!! Since I mainly play bass, I was really looking for an HD-130. The amp sounds great with a guitar, and pretty good with a bass. The guy I bought it from doesn't remember when it was re-tubed last, so I've got a set of Electo Harmonix EL34EH's and a 12AX7 on the way! Short of the cabinet actually being a guitar cabinet, are there any issues with playing a bass through the HD-130 Reverb amp? Is the "clean" channel on the Reverb compararable to the straight HD-130? Any recommendations or precautions? THANKS!

Guitar speakers aint bass speakers, and the cab's porting may not be right for bass, like you said.

Chris Squire, of Yes, used to play his Rickenbacker through a Twin Reverb. It sounded fantastic.

There shouldn't be any issues that would prevent you from using the HD-130 for Bass. If it works for you (through bass speakers if you intend to push it above bedroom levels) then go for it!
