Spotted a Mesa Boogie MK1 reissue, look at the knobs, are they the same as a MM? If so, somebody must still make em

Wow! Those knobs DO look like Music Man knobs!

In that photo the part of the knob that you grab doesn't appear to be as deep as the MM knobs, and the insert seems to be more shiny than the spun non-polished aluminum inserts used by Music Man originally

However, these knobs are closer in appearance to the MM units than any I have ever seen before!

Good Catch... I wonder how much a set would cost (as compared to the $3.00 each Fender charges for theirs)?

Steve

I tried a Mesa dealer here in OZ, they have plenty of them @ $12 AU each (about $8-9 US). What a rip off

I'm sure you guys in the US could source them much cheaper

The Mesa Boogie Part No for these knobs is 408109 and cost $5.20 each directly from Mesa Boogie. The guy at Mesa who I spoke with said that they will fit a "D shape" shaft. I can't remember what the pots are on the MM.

bummer. the shafts on my 210-sixty five are round with the knob's set screw tightening onto the shaft body. nice try though. one might be able to position the ss so that it would tighten against the round part of the shaft...that of course is assuming that the shafts are the same diameter. I recently replaced the vibrato "speed" knob on my 210 sixty-five; so I know whereof I speak regarding the pots on the '75 MM. one can always hope that one day the "true grail" (correct knob) will be discovered. until then, there is only fender I suppose.

Back the set screw out, run a drill bit of the shaft size into the "D" and boom, they are in.

or just buy fender knobs, yeah the numbers are counter sunk rather than silkscreened but you wont have to replace them again, and if you get a whole set - they're matching.
