Just got my RD-50 back from Ed Goforth. Have had it 30 years and was ready to finally tackle the inherant brightness and un-usable distortin channel.
Ed was easy to work with and after two shipments back and forth i must say he nailed it.
- Glogal lower midboost (on brite switch)
- seperate push pull upper mid boosts for each channel
-presence attenuation (new pot on back of amp)
-re-voicing of both channels to ease briteness
-limiter side goes from totallly clean (preamp tube)--to bluesy OD.
--the amp is warmer and fuller--super usable jazz tones, yet can still get the old briteness if needed.
Once again this is my favorite amp from my arsenal
because of size, duarability and power--and now the sound is what i always wanted.
