My brother bought this amp in the mid 70's. It originally came with a 12AX7 PI tube, but as you may know, MM recalled these because they were not real stable and ate tubes. He sent his in for the free fix and when he got it back discovered the PI tube was gone replaced with the SS driver board. The 12AX7 tube hole with the filler plate is visable in a few pics and a couple of factory mods to convert to SS driver can also be seen. Anyway, he gigged it hard for many years but stopped using it a couple of years ago because it needed repaired. I recapped it, replaced the driver transistors, cleaned some things, replaced the baffle, new grill cloth, retubed it, and recovered it. It had 4 Sylvania 6CA7 tubes -- unfortunately they are shot. I retubed it with EH 6CA7 tubes which sound great. The amp sound great! I used a pair of Eminence Ragin Cajun speakers, perfect for this amp. You can also see my 112 RD 50 and 112 RP 65 in a couple of the pics. Enjoy the pics at this link:
