first post long-time lurker

Is such a design possible? Is there perhaps a better preamp design that I could have in mind? Thanks for the help guys!

Can't really imagine changing out the preamp board ON PURPOSE. You'd have to account for the increased voltages produced by the MM transformers. On top of that, that's a LOT OF WORK for a minimal gain in front end compression or tone. I'd either pedal the front end(my choice) or rack mount something to feed the front end. Or just sell it if you don't like it and get what you DO want. I like the way my MM sounds with a pedal driven front end.

Nono, I'm talking about building a new amp from parts. I absolutely love my HD-130. I was just always interested in amp design. I was wondering if I hypothetically got the two schematics if it'd be as simple as connecting the ends, guess not! I dabble in guitar pedals but amps are a new thing for me.
