I've never done this before but have seen a few mentions in other posts. I have a straight MM75 head (with a 1-15 speaker cab) and wonder if I can externally bridge the channels together on this model using a guitar chord to create a more complex sound. If possible, what input jacks should I bridge and which input should I use for my guitar (Tele)? Also, any suggested EQ settings anyone might recommend... Does this type of use over-stress the amp? | ||

One of the old catalogs suggests using a 'y' cord and use both channels (in which case I suppose you would use the appropriate jack for your particular guitar in both channels, #1 for an ordinary Tele). As for settings: Use your ears and dial in something you like. Since the straight 75 head has two different voicings for the channels, I bet you could make some pretty cool sounds. Start with the bright filters off, then add one of them and work the treble control on the other channel. Best of luck, Lars Verholt | ||

Lars, thanks for the tip. I made a Y adapter this morning and tried it - sounds great and there's a ton of available EQ. Really seems to bring out the full potential of the amp. Best wishes. | ||

this post may be too late for you but if your MM75 head is like my 210rp75 - with 2 separate channels each with high and low input jacks on the front, all you need is a guitar cable, or better yet a patch cord (ie like you would used to chain pedals together - mine is ~6" long). You plug your guitar into the first channel high input, and one end of the cable into the low input of that channel, the other into the second channel (high or low). It works great and gives you oh so many tonal possibilities. | ||

I also run a straight MM75 and tried both of these (the Y cord and the coax linking the two channels) and I don't think the coax approach works as well. With the Y cord, I get full EQ as well as volume capability on both channels. With the coax I get volume but hardly any additional EQ. I'm not sure the MM75 has the same impedance inputs as the 210. |
