I purchased an RD112 Fifty for $200 last week. So far, I love the clean channel. It's the best I've ever heard bar none, and it is a versatile clean (if that makes sense) which makes it even better. The "limiter" channel sounds nasty to my ears - real buzzy. And unfortunately my Boss DS-1 sounds like a hornets nest when used through this amp's clean channel, which is a shame. I've had some issues with the amp's volume cutting out and distorting on me, which I think was the clean/limiter switch because it stopped happening after I switched that back and forth a few times. I plan on soon replacing all of the caps and maybe transistors in the amp within the next couple of weeks. Since I've owned the amp the reverb has been real hissy. It's a nice sounding reverb but past 3 it is really noisy and I like the reverb on 4 or 5, so I need to get rid of this hiss. Can anyone recommend a solution (ie, a part to replace/check)? Looking at the schematic, there are a handful of capacitors, a couple of transistors, and an IC. Perhaps I should replace all of these? I haven't pulled the chassis yet to take a look. I plan on doing that soon and shooting all of the pots/switches with caig de-oxit d5. |
